So Kendrick Lamar will be in Taylor Swift’s new video. We already had a mashup collabo of their’s at MVGEN so I guess today would be a good time to post it. Hopefully we can get a real collaboration between these two soon but until then just freestyle if off.

It’s amazing how few good songs there are for Mother’s Day compared to the songs about jumps, exes and enemies. We decided to put a twist on the Tupac “Dear Mama” classic and use the Coldplay “The Scientist” mashup because nobody said motherhood would be easy. We added some cool effects to the visuals too. Okay its been a while since I’ve posted on this blog. Everybody should check out the stuff I’m posting on Reddit. So far we’ve had 50,000 views in the past month thanks to the good content and subreddits over there. I still haven’t forgot about the blog and it would be nice if more people would check the content over here too and submit good content (either MVGEN videos or songs that they’d like videos for). We try and be current at MVGEN. So when my homie Ike Dolo who’s originally from Baltimore sent me a track about what was going on in Baltimore over the Freddie Gray situation right now, I made a video with it using images of police brutality and protests in Baltimore and all over the world.
Killer Mike is one of my favorite emcees out right now and is peaking with his solo work and Run The Jewels with El-P. He just pout out a video for this song “Ric Flair” so I thought I’d make another one for him with highlights of the wrestler the song is named after, Ric Flair.
The rumors of De La Soul’s and hip-hop’s death have been greatly exaggerated. Great to see one of my favorite rappers collaborate with one of my favorite rap groups and the song is dope so I had to make a video for this one.
Here’s a cool Mashup of Daft Punk and Michael Jackson. The vocals are from Michael’s part on “Say, Say, Say” with Paul McCartney. Seeing as how MJ and Daft Punk were both incredible visual as well as musical artists, we made a video with some of MJ’s best dance moves and Daft Punk’s best visuals.

It seems like the new rude boy of rap, Tyler The Creator from Odd Future has found his sensitive side and is getting his sing on this new track “Yellow.” The theme and feel of this song make it ideal for an MVGEN video so check it out.
So my favorite rap group growing up was A Tribe Called Quest and my favorite movies were the “Star Wars” series. This mashup is actually from a Chemical Brothers song “Galvanize” that has Q-Tip vocals but I decided to go with the ATCQ theme with “Star Wars” to make the video.
