Johnny Cash could be categorized as gansta country and his line from “Folsom Prison Blues,” “I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die” is as gansta as any rap lyric. Someone made a cool mashup of the man in black, with the man in the Black hat, Eazy-E, so I made a video for it.

Okay so we might be a little late to the party on this one but it’s still a great parody song and Rob Ford is still funny as hell, even if he isn’t in the news like he used to be. I wanted to do this parody of Jay-Z’s “Tom Ford” but never got around to it so I’m glad Canada’s finest, White Kong did it.
So this song came out last year but I’m just finding out about it now. I guess Vybz Kartel’s life turned out to be a “Miami Vice” episode, only he turned out to be the murderer who got arrested in the end. Still, I like the song so I decided to turn it into a “Miami Vice” episode.

Okay so I wasn’t a fan of Vanilla Ice performing at Selma but I am still a fan on “Ice, Ice Baby” and think it’s a better song than most modern radio rap songs. Also the song works great with the beat from Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars “Uptown Funk” with great MVGEN visuals.

The homie Splurt makes great music for MVGEN because he is very visual and in touch with the online world. For this video I used the artwork from “No Chill” as inspiration and just put in lots of sloths and snowboarding gifs. This is just a preview from a Walshy Fire mix so we can’t wait to hear the whole song.
Not only is Walshy Fire a member of Major Lazer but he is also a great and well respected deejay in the world of reggae as well. From hosting the Noisey Jamaica series to putting out mixtapes for Chronixx, Jesse Royal and Suns Of Dub, Walshy has become an ambassador for the reggae world. So when Walshy sent me the Happy Hour Riddim 2015 riddim mix, I had to make a video for it. The riddim featuring artists like Alkaline, Beenie Man and Vybz Kartel, sends me back to the early 2000s when dancehall was running things and put me in world full of beaches, sexy women, partying and liquor so I used those elements for the video.
